When you visit Haas Dental, we want to make sure you and your children feel at home. Our family dentists strive to make a kid’s first dental visit fun and painless so they don’t develop a fear of the dentist chair and are motivated to keep their smile in tip top shape.

At our office we offer entertainment for kids to help reduce their dental anxiety. Our TVs in the rooms are set to children’s programs and we also have a pond where kids can feed the koi fish. The koi fish in the pond always enjoy seeing the kids because it means they get extra full! After an appointment all kids are able to choose a prize from our treasure box.

To help those with dental anxiety we use nitrous oxide sedation (laughing gas) to ensure overall patient comfort and satisfaction. In many cases we perform treatments without the use of anesthetics. Instead, we use our Erbium Dental Laser for a quick and relatively painless experience and/or nitrous oxide sedation.

When Should A Child Visit The Dentist?

A child’s first dental visit should be around three years old unless you notice anything of concern like discoloured teeth which may be a sign of a cavity. If you are unsure please give us a call. A fun experience for children goes a long way in relieving their dental anxiety so we do encourage kids to come visit before their first appointment so they get to meet the dentists, our staff, and get a tour as well. In any case there's always hungry koi fish to feed!
