It has been a long wait but the summer has finally arrived. Now
when our workdays start super early and end late things don't seem to
be as bad as the daylight lasts a lot longer.
We were excited to see Dr. Schacht pay us a visit after returning from
Florida. It has now been a couple of years since Dr. Schacht retired but
we still miss him. We are glad to see that retirement is treating Manny
well and that he is keeping busy.
Dr. Dan was very honoured to take part in Dr. Schacht's 85th birthday
celebration. He was surrounded by family and great friends who
shared their great memories with Manny over the years. Dr. Schacht's
daughter Pam surprised her dad with his original outdoor office sign
from the Overbrook office that was done about 60 years ago. She had to
pull a lot of strings to get it just before the building was demolished.
A one of a kind gift. Way to go Pam!
Liat surprised us with a pleasant visit with her adorable son Noah who has kept her very busy. Liat has adjusted to the ups and downs of motherhood and is loving it.
Dr. Dan finally did it. After contemplating for the past few years he finally rode the 75km route rather than the 50km he has been doing at the Ride for the Heart on the Gardner and DVP. Job well done Dr. Dan
especially with all things considered that it rained the majority of the way and he rode a mountain bike rather than a street bike.
Recently Dr. Dan couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate Father's Day. He had a special bonding day with Yael on the Veahavta outreach van. It meant the world to Dr. Dan to see Yael interacting with
the homeless and the less fortunate and not being judgmental. He said it was rewarding to see how Yael understands that everyone deserves respect
and human dignity no matter who they are.
We would like to wish you all a great summer whether you choose to go
away or just stay in our great city.
